Review on LG 32UN880-B UltraFine 31.5" 4K Monitor - Tilt, Pivot, Height Adjustment, Connectivity by Vince Germain

Flexible stand and great picture

I replaced a 2013 iMac that I was using as a dedicated monitor for my 2018 MacBook Pro. The display I was very happy with but the kids needed a computer for school instead of homework. This monitor is pretty good so far but I was horrified at first because I couldn't adjust any settings and the colors were yellowed and washed out. Turns out OS X had HDR enabled by default when I wasn't actually trying to display HDR content. This caused the monitor to lock out other picture settings. After unchecking this box in the display settings, everything looked fine and the colors were accurate. The ergo stand allows you to mount it on a table or use a through hole if your table has one. The latter allows you to place the table against the wall. The adjustments are smooth and reliable. It stays where you want it. You can turn it in any direction, which would be nice in the office, but not really necessary with the WFH, but nice to be able to. I would like the vertical movement to be a bit higher. It comes with a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C cable, allowing you to use one cable for both data and power. That's only up to 60 watts, but it should be enough for normal use. I noticed that the battery only shuts down when processing heavily. I keep a wall charger nearby in case I ever need one. The 2 USB-A ports on the back of the monitor are handy and save me the hassle of having to use a hub for accessories I need to keep plugging in. Overall it's a good display, an attractive design that's bright enough for a sunlit room, a wide color gamut for precise design work, and a very flexible stand.
