They are beautiful to walk in. You can walk barefoot in them, but with protection for your feet. They make your legs and leg muscles really strong. They all get jobs. You will learn how the movement of your feet and toes affects the other muscles listed above. It reshaped my calves for the better and helped shape other muscles. I think running shoes these days are too restrictive for foot and toe movement and limit the activity of your calf muscles and Achilles tendon. I learned this type of body movement when I became a Pilates instructor and I highly recommend it for maximum muscle utilization. It takes some getting used to wearing them. You'll be working muscles that haven't worked in a while, so expect muscle soreness. Start with 10 minutes a day and work your way up
