I bought it because I read on the internet that using it twice a year doubles the life of the tire tread. I don't think that's true, but it was easy to apply and helped restore the moisture to an old set of snow tires on my truck. The tires have already started to dry rot, so there is no way to save them completely. But I hope it helps extend life a little. EDIT: I changed my rating to 5 stars. This works wonderfully for car tires. This makes cleaning dirty tires easier. Thoroughly clean the tire and apply this product liberally once a year. That's all. I also used this protection on the trunk lid of my truck. It's so easy to apply, doesn't look "chemical" and cleans up easily. I put this protection on all my tires. I use special winter and summer tires on two different cars so I don't do a lot of miles on the same set. After changing tires for the season I will be using this product to see how it works. I haven't tried it for anything else. I will update this review as I use the product more often.
