I did my own manicure for many years, but because of the regularity I took a few years off. I taught myself acrylics 15 years ago and when I recently started doing my nails again I went back to acrylics as I can handle them. Well after my husband complained about the acrylic smell I started looking for hard jelly and the difference. There were a lot of mixed reviews on the pros and cons and I read that the smell is better so I bought this set to try. After the first application I realized that it really isn't that difficult. The biggest difference is that it's stickier and doesn't cure as quickly since you have to use light to cure (pros and cons for both). The two main reasons I will never go back to acrylic are that Hard Jell is not that easy to lift. I had a lot less lifting near the cuticles. The second reason is that the smell is much better and my husband is much happier! Lol This is really great stuff!
