Okay, a little mistake on my part, I thought it was a smooth shelf. However, it's hard to "love" a shelf. It's pretty solid though, I installed 2 8U rack rails on it and installed 2 switches (48 port Ubiquiti, 16 port Netgear 10G), KVM (8 port Iogear) and 3 cable management trays. Everything is holding up fine. But my point was that I usually put things on top of a stack of things, and since it's 8U, on the top shelf of the wire rack I use for my systems; I wanted to use this instead; but with slots the screws get lost underneath. So it's not a perfect solution for my use case. That's about what I expect from durability; The ears can be bent if one tends to, but it is strong enough not to bend under its own weight or with objects on it. I don't think I would use it for a printer. Sending it back would eat up half of the purchase price, so it's worth the hassle. However, I ordered a 2U drawer from the same brand, so I expect the solution to work for my use case.
