NavePoint 1U Vented Rack Tray - 14 Inches (350mm Deep), Black, Lipless Design Review

I installed this shelf at the bottom of my Startech 8U wall shelf. This 14 inch deep shelf extends all the way to the back and sits on the edge of the rack allowing it to support all the heavy items like the UPS and NAS drives I have.

I bought this to hold my turntable. Which probably isn't an uncommon use case in A/V racks is definitely great, unless of course you're short on space. It's also nice that it doesn't have a bump on the back that could potentially get cables in the way.

Bought two of these cables to connect a PC to a Mac mini. Mac mini transfers videos without any problems and works great. I think the PC is suffering from my very old graphics card, so I'm just plugging in the keyboard and mouse for now. What I like about this connection is that the computer wakes up when you press the keyboard.

This is a good solid shelf, but I had to file about 1/16 of an inch into each hole to fit the new alligator case. The holes are slightly wider than a standard rack mount. I didn't have time to return it so I just changed it myself. Not very happy with the bare metal exposure which could become a potential rust spot.

Please note the weight limit. They carry 22 pounds but start to bend in the middle depending on how that weight is distributed. A little more and the shelf starts to sag. The line is clear though, so I'm not scolding them for it, just knowing that they mean business.

I have 4 of these shelves and will likely buy more from the same seller (Navepoint). The shelves are thin and compact, very clean. No annoying lip at the front or back. The packaging was excellent (maybe even overkill!) and there were screws inside!

Fits me. It was difficult to line up the holes for my Darkglass 900 amp where I wanted, but I managed. Can't fault the product itself I think. Seems well done. But if you use the same as me, your amp will be set a little further than you would like. for your information

As soon as I placed a 12-port switch and a 4-drive NAS on it, you could see it start to bend. This shelf is only 1.2mm thick and can be easily bent without much effort. I decided to return it and use a few bucks more AC Infinity instead which are 2.4mm thick! I don't recommend them unless you have a small and light component…

The shelf is very effective for my small home infrastructure. It's lightweight yet fits my NAS, USG, and 8-port POE switch. On the other shelf are two Pis. Nothing special. I had to give it four stars because if the vents were rotated 90 degrees I could use them as Velcro attachment points to keep everything organized. A small blemish, but still something I didn't think of when looking at it.
