Great product for the price!

love it! It includes a 24-port PoE switch, gateway, 24-port patch panel, 12-outlet surge protector, modem and IP camera rack shelf. to feed the wires and in the same job I put 2 2x4s (overkill I know) between the studs to attach the rack to those 2x4s. it was because I had more space between the cleats than posture would allow.

Pros
  • this is amazing
Cons
  • not reliable

Not bad for a cheap network rack

Not bad for a cheap network rack. The holes on mine matched the 16" studs perfectly so no modifications needed to be made. The only thing I did was unscrew and remove the bar at the top as it prevented me from installing the shelf in the router and modem rack. I understand it's meant to secure the rack, but once you've installed the switches and power supplies, the rack won't flex and flex. For a small office or home, this should be a satisfactory purchase.

Works perfectly. Good workmanship

Wall mounted in my office closet. Works perfectly. Happy end. The only complaint is that it comes with 12 nuts/bolts per cage which meant I had to buy more. Great value for money storage

First time buying a home rack mount and very happy with the price. I prefer to invest in technology than in assembly material. I installed a 24-port Unifi switch, a Unifi Pro Dream machine, a Cyberpower PSU, and a Startech shelf. I used M6 Xool screws ($12.99). One review said the Startech were silver but the ones that came with mine were black. For the price of competing 6U racks I got a great setup and couldn't be happier. The shelf is delivered pre-assembled and the shelf is very high…

Incredibly strong and easy to install (6U)

Installed on our linen closet. I was able to get into the cleats with four large screws and place them on top. I added an extender, a 16-port switch, a 24-port patch panel, and a shelf with a smaller PoE switch and router. There doesn't appear to be any weight issues, and the bar on top of the device adds to the device's rigidity. Note that the crossbar also prevents you from installing things like a power distribution box or anything that requires clearance from above, since some of the…

Great Price Network Rack

I bought the 6U version to replace the 4U version from the same company I grew out of. Rackmount accessories with Cloud Key, 24-Port Unifi Non-POE Switch, 24-Port Patch Panel and Vented Shelf for 8-Port Unifi POE Switch. Note. I left the cross member structure on the rack, but after installing the elements into the rack I expect it to be solid without the cross members. I was able to move the crosspost to the bottom of the rack (the rack has threaded crosspost mounting holes at the top and…

StarTech 8U Wall Mount

So far I am very satisfied with this patch panel. Appearance is pretty good. It's a nice black color and the quality of the paint seems to be such that it doesn't chip and is easy to clean. Installation was really easy. The included instructions include a drilling template that perfectly matches the wall studs. I was confident that this patch panel would not fall off the wall. I am very glad that I chose the 8U panel. It wasn't much bigger and gave me more space for my gear. One feature I would

Good rack. with a small flaw.

I was pleasantly surprised by this rack. To be honest I was expecting something weaker based on some of the other reviews, but it's actually well made and quite robust, especially with a few added components. Haven't installed it on the wall yet, but I assume it's easy. Advantages: - Durable - Powder coated - Uniform. No sharp edges. Cons: Only comes with (12) M6 bolts/nuts which basically gives you 3 components to mount in this rack. I'd bet at least 20 or 24 because most likely you'll fill it

Plan to purchase replacement hardware.

I like almost everything about this rack. Not too big, not too small, feels stable, looks good. Use this for a home network with a LAN cable in each room. The open design worked well for my purposes. My biggest issue was with the mount itself. Firstly, it comes with M5 cage nuts and bolts (not M6 as advertised). I installed this myself on a couple of exposed studs, which is always a bit inconvenient. Anyway, the wood screw heads were exactly the same size as the holes in the back of the rack…

Great first rack unit for beginners with rack effects

I bought this rack unit because I was starting to buy new equipment for my personal music/recording studio. I currently have an Avid Eleven Rack and a BBE 362 Sonic Maximizer as rackmount effects. Let me just say this device is a beast and tough as a tank. As seen in the pictures, it fits perfectly in my FX rack with 3 extra slots (Rack 11 uses 2 slots by itself) and still has enough space for my old Mac Mini and my Behringer audio interface (U-Phoria UMC204HD) . ). The top is open but I found…
