Installed on our linen closet. I was able to get into the cleats with four large screws and place them on top. I added an extender, a 16-port switch, a 24-port patch panel, and a shelf with a smaller PoE switch and router. There doesn't appear to be any weight issues, and the bar on top of the device adds to the device's rigidity. Note that the crossbar also prevents you from installing things like a power distribution box or anything that requires clearance from above, since some of the crossbar falls into that 1U top space. Overall I am happy with my purchase. I did not ground the device as everything I connected to the power supply is grounded. Will be updated if necessary.
