Review on Premium Adjustable Blue Nursing Pillow by My Brest Friend – Vinyl material included by Lauren Russell

I won't review the base product "My Brest Friend" here as there are tons of reviews elsewhere (just check out one of the base models). (But yeah anyway, I wholeheartedly recommend Brest Friend over Boppy - I bought both and used Brest Friend exclusively for at least the first 4-5 months when the baby was young. Boppi worked ok after that... and I prefer it as it's easier to put on and take off with one hand.) If you're reading this, you're probably wondering if it's worth buying a "professional" model over a regular model. This model is mainly sold to hospitals and lactation consultants, but I think it's essential for home use. I originally had one of the regular Friend breasts with a 100% cotton cover and my baby pooped on it straight away. and milk dripped on him quite often too. While the cotton cover is washable, the pillow insert itself should only be spot cleaned. which didn't feel very hygienic or durable. And for some unknown reason, the manufacturer doesn't make a waterproof lining like Boppy does. So I bought this Pro model - it might not have a nice design on the lid and yes the top is plastic/vinyl so not super soft but it's a lot more practical. I put a burp cloth over it so my baby touches it first and if feces or milk gets on it I can just wash it and lightly wipe the blue cover underneath. I'm surprised so many moms don't buy this. Highly recommended! EDIT: After 5 months of use, I still highly recommend this pillow. The only downside I would add is that the material is not breathable. If I don't put a layer of fabric between the baby and the pillow, his head/body will sweat and start sticking to the pillow. He's probably not feeling very well. So I just always put an intermediate layer. The Aden + Anais Burp Cloths are the perfect size/shape (crescent) and work great.
