I owned three aluminum Apple Cinema HD Displays from 2004-2008. If one died it wasn't worth the repair cost and I couldn't find a decent used one. I read a lot about this LG. LG supplies parts for Apple displays. However, this is a definite disappointment. Image quality is flat. By flat I mean whether the advanced mode is on or off or what color profile is used, it's relatively dull, lifeless and not as sharp as I expected. I compare it to 2008 technology in 2022. Apple Cinema HD is almost 3D, the picture quality is so vivid and crisp. I supply them with the new Apple Mac Mini M1. I have an Apple Cinema HD connected to a 2nd gen Mac Mini and an MSI branded NVidia card in a hackintosh. Picture quality was better than LG's, although two Mac Minis deliver the best picture quality of the three. Apple Cinema Displays operate in Standard mode. LG 27UP850-W, no matter how I set it up, doesn't hold up. I would also like to go with the 32" as there isn't much of a difference in size compared to 23" ACDs. 4k on a 27-inch display is impractical, and once you make adjustments to make text legible, it "appears" so similar that you have to assume they're the same size.
