Very stable, does not tip over. I sleep on my side and sometimes I want to watch TV on my device in bed (because it's watching me fall asleep). I know I'm not the only one. I know I shouldn't sleep with devices, but I do. This stand is great. It holds my 7x9 device and my daughter perfectly as both a 10x9 device and a larger phone. This stand is heavy enough to keep them on the stand without tipping over even on the mattress. That's settled. The only reason I gave this piece a 4 out of 5 is because a couple of times I wished it was a little higher. Definitely not a dealer counter, I can just put a book stand on it. I personally don't need a second one, but I would definitely gift it multiple times!
