Review on Universal Conditioner KT 3994 Compressor by Greg Peitz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Hard to get in a small 4 sausage like mine.

With everything you need. Be sure to check your manual to calculate how much extra oil to add to your compressor. On my Corolla 03, my air conditioning didn't work for a year because the clutch started to stick. My shop called me about the job at 1800 (which included the entire system, not just what's in the kit) and every other shop in town I called was charging 3,000-4,000 for the job. It's hard to get them out in a small 4 sausage like mine, but overall it's a breeze. I would suggest lubricating the belt a bit. My V-ribbed belt is fine, but squeaked a bit for the first week. I think we got the job done in about 3 or 4 hours as me and my friend worked on it. Make sure your shop drains the coolant for you before working on it. When you drive, it restores the pressure a little. Put on gloves and take a screwdriver to the main valve and drain it, then to the secondary valve if you have one, and then you can disconnect. If there is enough refrigerant to create a cloud or freeze you through gloves, return it to the store. Once the system is installed, don't turn on the air conditioning or, if you have a Corolla, don't use the fans at all (9th Gen Corolla fans turn on the compressor) and take it back to the shop for a refill. Draining and refilling will probably cost you $100 on top of that supercharger kit. This ensures proper pressure throughout the system so you don't have to worry about the compressor failing again.
