ABOUT ME: - I started out with 3c/4a combo hair - it was natural hair (ie not chemically treated or colored) PROS: 1) Maybe it's my specific hair type but I think this one Product worked much better than I expected. I thought my hair type would probably go to 3b without curly hair, which to be honest I'd be happy with, but now it's closer to 2c (loose curls and waves)! 2) my hair feels silky smooth. If you are looking for a product that will keep frizz to a minimum, then this is the product for you. Hair is left moisturized, soft, tangle-free. To be honest I've never spent so little time washing myself or using so little product in the shower lol so I can save quite a bit of time and money. 3) As long as you are experienced, patient and able to follow the instructions EXACTLY, you can use this product at home. You have to work in very small areas. You should stay in a well-ventilated area as doors and windows will be open and a large fan will blow fumes out of your face. CONS: 1) This is quite a lengthy process, some people need to be honest with themselves about their ability to complete the treatment with the patience and attention to detail required. It took me 8 hours from start to finish, although this is partly due to my curly hair and its length (around the waist). 2) There can be a lot of smoke if you are not careful. I didn't have too many issues other than a slight sting in my eyes when I styled my hair forward and wasn't looking at the fan and it felt like slicing an onion. I would not feel comfortable doing this procedure in the same room as pets or children. 3) Obviously you'll get some heat damage on your ends due to the heat. Again, my work with healthy hair was minimal. I suggest making sure you can also trim your hair or get a quick trim while your hair is straight and before the first wash. CONCLUSION: I would only recommend this product to someone who has the time, energy and patience to get the treatment RIGHT. . If you're not, entrust it to professionals. If you believe you are up to the challenge, the results will be excellent. Will definitely be using this product again when it's gone - the day's struggle was worth it compared to all the time and product I'll be saving until then.
