Solid white and pastel colors are very beautiful, and the brightness is excellent. One of them was enough for our tree, about 7 feet tall. However, the display says 11 modes, the manual says 11 number buttons and our remote only says 8. Numbers 1-4 don't seem to do anything at all. Regardless of which setting is already on, it only flashes for a second and turns back on when you press 1, 2, 3, or 4. (This is with fresh batteries and about 10 feet from the sensor.) Then one of them is solid white, the other is pastels, a single tone, a few flashes, but they're insanely fast and I don't see when anyone is in the will be able to use that. I won't be returning it because I just wanted solid white anyway and I love pastels. But if you're buying this because it has 11 modes, don't buy it because there aren't any.
