To be honest this is a much needed product. If you need it, you know what you need it for, if you think what I need it for, then you probably don't need it. When I first tried it I didn't like it and still prefer the non-sticky texture of bare keyboards. The new texture took a little getting used to though, as it gives each key a kind of sticky, grippy finish, as you'd expect. How does it work? Great. I bought a transparent one so as not to dim the keyboard backlight on this model and soften it a bit, but you can still see all the keys lit up at 2am when you're writing school essays. When it arrived I realized my computer was changing so I figured it would fall off every time I turned it over, but no, it stays there until you take it off yourself. It also increases grip on the surface you're using the screen on without a keyboard, making it move less across the table. Cleaning is very easy, soap and tap water is all. I got this from my previous Chromebook (which still works), I've noticed that the matte keys have become shiny and gross over the years of use. Also, the first time I took these caps off and cleaned them was awful so I bought this guy to save myself the hassle and it was a great purchase. You don't need it, if you want your keyboard to be as good as new and clean, do it. It's cheap and works well
