I got this for my street lamp on the porch as I often forget to turn it off at night and have no way of turning it on without turning it on all day when I get home at night. I turned towards the sensor towards the sunset. It turns on when nearby lights turn on, so unlike other reviewers, I haven't found it turning on too early or their expectations deviate from what's on average from dusk to dawn. The light is bright.
