fits, but leaves doubts

Vtech cordless phones, 10 years old? These batteries fit, but I charged them for almost 24 hours each with a full bar showing on the phone. But when I took them to my parents, they turned out not to be fully charged. The same phones. I'm not sure what that means and I hope these batteries last as long as the original batteries, but I really don't hope so.
