Confession: I organized OCD. Yes, this is something my therapist and I discuss regularly. Something about finding things in life I can control because I can't control other things. Anyway, I have a very organized house/life. I view Container Store catalogs the way most women view Nordstrom catalogs. Like many people, my sock drawer is a complete mess. I'm a researcher and I have to wear closed shoes every day. I also live in a cold climate. That means I have a lot of socks. From subtle to ankle-length, sporty to casual. I stuff them in my drawer and can barely close them. I decided to try out these cute little combs to see how they do with all my many socks. They arrived on time and well packaged. This item is VERY easy to assemble. I mean, complete proof of idiocy. It's always refreshing! I also love that you can create your own size (within limits) and that there are different configurations that you can use. If you don't like it, you can just disassemble it and assemble it in other ways! This entire unit measures 14" x 13" when fully assembled (see photo) and has 18 covered sock compartments, although you can use the side semi-open sock drawers for trainers, golf shoes, or socks without showing (which opens up to 10 additional places). The whole unit, fully assembled, was smaller than my sock box in width and length, so it floats a bit when I open and close it. You can see from my photos how much extra space is left with this. The height was just right. My drawer is very small (only 3 inches high) and at 2.6 inches it fits perfectly. As for the actual holes, I can only fit one pair of 8.5ft casual socks in each hole. However, I can fit up to 3 pairs of socks in each hole. The truth is I can fit more socks in my drawer by stuffing them in like I used to, but it makes them a lot more organized and prettier, and I can sort by color without having to rummage through them every time. I'm looking for a specific pair or color. To be honest I'm a fan, especially for the price! I will probably get my husband one too. FYI my dresser is an IKEA Hemmnes 6 drawer dresser if that helps. In fact, I think there are many organizational uses for these little cells. I might buy one when it's time to put away my Christmas decorations! Although the holes are too small for a medium sized glass ball, I think they fit perfectly with most of our decorations! I think it can be useful for workshop and sewing workshop, and also for sorting thread or yarn, buttons, clasps, clasps, beads, elastics, etc. Really useful! All in all, not ideal for my drawer. and while it reduces the actual number of socks I can technically stuff in the drawer myself, I'm glad I bought them and will continue to use them because it's so much better to be organized than stuff lots of stuff to be able to in the drawer. drawer, and each time you have to dig around to find what you want.
