I'm DIsappointed But You Might Like It

I had a leather cover for Moleskine Cahier pocket notebooks that I really liked. Possibly too much. It was made by OleksynPrannyk and I bought it here on ebay. It held the notebook, looked really nice and fit easily into the back pocket of my jeans. Unfortunately it went missing. Having given up on seeing it again I looked through ebay's offerings and found this "Leather Journal Cover for Field Notes" that also holds a pen, a couple business cards and a few bucks. After not thinking it quite…

Pros
  • I'm really impressed with everything relating to this piece of work! It's perfect in every way!
Cons
  • Can be difficult to clean

Useful and attractive

Got this for a friend who used to carry a Bare Rite in the Rain notebook around daily. The edges of the notebook would get curled and it looked less than optimal. This allowed him to carry the field notes, a pen and business cards in one handy "package”. Not only does it look very professional, but he’s received several compliments on the case when using it to take down a number or pass along his cards.

Pros
  • I’ve been using the notebook for a few weeks. Holding up nicely. Good quality for the price.
Cons
  • Prone to scratches and scuffs

Look elsewhere for a nice 5.5 x 3.5 notebook cover.

I ordered the coffee one which includes the loop in the middle for a pen. This loop is the product's biggest flaw. For one it won't hold the Lamy Safari that I carry with me every day, so I end up having to keep it in my pocket separately. But that isn't the only reason why I'm not fond of the loop. When trying to write on the back of a page with it folded over to the left side, over the rather stiff leather loop, there is a very noticeable bump that makes it very awkward to write. I have…

Love both designs. Bought 1 of each, then 10 more!

Very pleased with these. Solid, simple, elegant look, feel, and construction. I purchased the brown and coffee color (coffee Has the pen loop and single card slot). Both are excellent in their own way and depend on your use preference. Contrary to one reviewer who was frustrated by the pen loop placement interfering with the booklet and close (ie not being aligned with the center fold), I found it perfect if only used to clip to its outside rather than through the loop (as shown in the ad pic).

Pros
  • Love this would be better with a tie to keep it shut but very sturdy, fits well in pocket!
Cons
  • Leather smell may be overpowering

Love it. Solved several problems

I am very pleased with this journal cover. I am always needing to jot something down, constantly losing memo pads, and also hate having multiple things in my pocket, so this solved several problems: I use it for a wallet. It actually ends up being thinner (even with a pen) than my previous wallet, in part because I decided to be selective about how many cards to keep in there. The Moleskine Cahier Journal (3.5 x 5.5) fits and is more durable than the field notes in the picture.

Pros
  • This cover has one card slots, pen holder and two interior pockets (one is for your Field Notes and the other is for cash etc. ) to organize everything.
Cons
  • Leather may stain other items in your bag

Often when I buy leather products online, they aren't as nice as the pictures suggest, or in a few instances, aren't even leather. In this case, it is exactly as described. A rich, dark brown color, no odd smell (as is often the case when leather comes from overseas), and the packaging was quite delightful. It was in a nice little muslin bag, and then inside a lovely little envelope style box that was tied with a piece of jute. Inside the cover was a postcard and bookmark, both with images from

Pros
  • Office & School Supplies
Cons
  • May not protect the notebook fully from water damage

Too Big for pocket journal

I have to admit the cover is well made and quite attractive but it's just too big. I am rarely found without my Field Notes pad combined with a Space Pen, both perfect for a quick note. Unfortunately after a few weeks in a sweaty pocket, the journal starts to get a bit rough looking. I was hoping this leather cover would give my journals a little more life, unfortunately I would have to change my entire wardrobe to cargo shorts to accommodate this cover. The cover could stand to lose a full…

  • Office Products
Cons
  • Can be difficult to insert and remove the notebook

Great Cover - Needs Strap

Great cover for the field notes. It's well made; it's very durable and sturdy. It would be great if it had an elastic strap to help keep it closed (even more necessary once you put a pen in the penholder. I purchased a Rotring 3-in-1 pen/pencil and if you use the Rotring's clip to attache to the pen holder sewn into the Journal Cover, the pen fits perfectly in the middle and it closes nicely. I like the pocket sewn into the inside cover - perfect for holding several business cards. Really…

Pros
  • Made from durable genuine leather
Cons
  • May be too small for larger handwriting

Excellent quality in my review

I wanted a quality leather cover for my field notes books but I didn't want to spend a fortune on it. I took a chance and ordered this cover thinking it would be "good enough." When I unboxed it, I was very pleasantly surprised. The leather has a great soft feel and leather smell. The stitching looks to be high quality. There is a pocket to insert the notebook, another full. sized pocket for whatever and a small pocket for cards -- I carry a few business cards there. Looking at the pictures on…

Pros
  • A perfect gift for writers and journal enthusiasts
Cons
  • Not suitable for use with multiple notebooks

Sophisticated and lovely little leather cover

The first thing you notice is the quality, then the exquisite smell, and finally the durableness and sturdiness that's offered by the beautiful stitching pattern. I was going to gift this item, but I ended up keeping it. (Sorry, friend!)A huge plus is that it fits perfectly inside your pants or inside jacket. Also, if you are going to fit any type of notebook I would highly recommend Elan's 'field notes' Elan's 3.5" x 5.5" lined memo book. And if you want to go the extra mile, you can also…

Pros
  • Can be used to store notepads, receipts, and other small items
Cons
  • May not fit perfectly with all Field Notes or Moleskine Cahiers

Great Quality --- The pen loop (not so much)

Love the packaging this product comes in --- for what I needed this to do (hold my notebook, a few cards) this works great and fits in your back pocket like a champ! the pen loop is useless --- it looks great in the pictures which hooked me in, but actually using it ruins the integrity of the notebook and the shape of the cover so its really useless --- I just clipped my pen to the edge of the spine --- I've had it a bit over a week and the leather is starting to soften up just fine --- no…

Pros
  • Great for keeping track of passwords, contacts, and other important information
Cons
  • Can be difficult to clean ink stains from leather

Looks great good for me

Very nice, and good looking high quality leather cover for my field notebook. I use this daily, always adding to my to do list or items I need to get. Very happy with the quality.

Pros
  • Makes it easy to find your notebook in your bag
Cons
  • May not be eco-friendly

leave you pen in your desk

it seems to be a nice note book cover, I wasn't really sure what moleskin was. It is nice but more pliable that i had hoped for. I'll carry it with a field notebook in my pocket daily. I am afraid that it will get bent up. with the pen in place, it doesn't fold well, but i carefully removed the pen loop. It seems to work better. It is a nice color and seems to be well built for a 20$ cover

Pros
  • The cover gets better with age
Cons
  • Can be difficult to re-sell or give as a gift

Beautiful Leather Journal cover, great in any setting

It’s made of high quality leather that is supple yet sturdy, looks beautiful and is not out of place in a corporate environment. I love the natural look and feel of real leather and this is another great organic accessoryMy one minor complaint is that if you place a pen in the pen sheath the pen will go over the journal spine making it bulge out a bit. I have solved this by placing the pen outside the sheath and using the sheath to only hold the pen cap clip. This works. I just wish that the…

Pros
  • Protects your private notes from prying eyes
Cons
  • Leather may dry out over time

For this price, it's a steal!

I've kept this notebook in my pocket (with keys & change) for a few months, and I'm super happy with it. It's wearing nicely. With the pocket I'm keeping it in, I expected it to look more worn than it is now. For the price, this is pretty unbeatable. If you're just getting into EDC or keeping a notebook on hand to jot things down, get this cover!

Pros
  • It’s light yet sturdy
Cons
  • May be too expensive for budget-conscious consumers

Awesome cover for my field notebooks!

I use this every single day for work and at home. Pliable enough to have in a back pocket all day and while sitting. It holds the notebook in place very well, plus it has a nice large loop on the inside for a pen or a pencil. Seems to get better and better with use. But don't use the pages that are in contact with the leather just because they will be smudged by the leather.

Pros
  • Resistant to scratches and stains
Cons
  • May become stained or discolored easily

It’s beautifully made

I am an artist with an oversized custom made business card and needed to have a case to carry it in. It worked perfectly and have gotten lots of compliments when I take this out and give my business card away. Like my business card this case is a game changer.

Pros
  • Ideal for jotting down quick notes, reminders, or ideas
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in professional settings

Excellent idea: my feedback

Bought this as a gift for my brother. He was really pleased with it. Now I am going to have to get one for myself. Scratches may not be easily buffed out.

Pros
  • Soft texture and comfortable to hold
Cons
