This shower brush is not what I expected but it is much better. The handle is made of thick and durable plastic. It's long and makes back cleaning so easy. The brush section is different from most shower brushes. It's not even a brush. It is rubber with small cleaning ribs. The "brush" part is flexible and flexible, soft and resistant to abrasion. Side slits, sponge in the slit. The sponge is where the soap is absorbed and the lather is formed. An additional one of these sponges is included with the brush. I like to take mine out from time to time and clean them in a bowl of warm bleach water and soap. I didn't even have to use an extra sponge. Washes very well, I feel completely cleansed after use.
