Review on Enhanced UCO Original Candle Lantern Value Pack: 3 Candles + Storage Bag for Unmatched Convenience by Denise Harmeyer

Let me start by saying that this is a review of a single lamp, not candles, bundles or Amazon (which is excellent). I really wanted to like this lamp. I'm a fan of a lot of UCO stuff, own their matches, containers and love their new cookware, but this lamp, their trademark, is pretty poorly made. It's no exaggeration to say it belongs to a dollar store. Let me explain why. (Please use the photos for reference): I noticed that the top doesn't close straight, the poles were bent, one leg doesn't extend and latch properly when opening. It looks unevenly widened, their logo sticker wasn't centered in any way, and there's a chip notch on the back. Keep in mind that this is a very simple thin metal construction and should work properly. The sticker should be at least flat and not chipped. If it was a few bucks at the dollar store I wouldn't think much, but at $25 it's a terrible price. I thought it might be made in the US to make the cost more reasonable, but no, it's made in China. Your margins must be breathtaking. Also, the base is plastic and I see it cracking or loosening over time. It's barely closed yet. It wouldn't be fun if the candle fell out of the ground and caught fire on the floor. There are some simple steps UCO can take to improve this product. The fact of the matter is that even with flawless manufacturing, made in China, it shouldn't cost more than $10 with a healthy price premium. Incidentally, the quality of the paintwork is excellent, as is the chain and hook.
