Keeping paper records for all your classes can be old fashioned and yes it does take a little time to organize at the start of the school year. every new school year, but this little tool has helped me countless times in student interactions, parent-teacher conferences, and administrative meetings, especially with regard to student attendance. I can see everything important for the entire evaluation period at a glance. And most importantly, I can quickly see student patterns and tendencies as they manifest in the early stages. It's much easier than searching through computer records. I even schedule days to contact the house to make sure no one and nothing slips through.
