They are unlikely to stay in place if things go wrong. If the case collides (or anything that's in the baffles, flat or slightly curved), the dividers can be raised far enough to allow for unplanned shuffling of the items you're storing. Thickness: 4/5. Again, keep in mind what we work with (i.e. inexpensive). Transparency: 5/5. Pretty transparent. It's not glass, but I can't confuse what's in the box. I was looking for something cheap, lightweight, and something stackable to store small board games (Gloomhaven in particular). These boxes are very suitable for this task.
