Review on Acer V277U: 2560X1440P FreeSync Monitor with Adaptive Sync and V7 Speakers by Casimir Weiss

Great picture but displayport issue

I was skeptical that this would have good image quality at high resolution, but it does. I usually use Dell Ultrasharp monitors so I have something to compare. At a significantly lower price, this monitor delivers about the same picture quality. The colors are pretty good and striking, and the text is clear. It lacks some of the perks of Ultrashap monitors, like extra USB ports and high-end stands, but that's to be expected for the price. The stand is a little wobbly and doesn't have height adjustment, but that's enough. The only problem I had with this monitor was the display port. It just turns off for two or three seconds at random times, sometimes multiple times in a row. I tried updating the drivers and everything else I could think of but the problem persists. I have two Dell monitors that I use elsewhere with my laptop and the problem isn't with them plugging into their display ports (i.e. the problem isn't with my computer). Searching the web I found that other Acer monitors have the same issue when using their display ports. I switched to using the HDMI port and the problem went away, but when you have to use the display port it can be annoying.
