Review on Glisten Garbage Disposer Cleaner in 🍋 Lemon scent - Pack of 4, 2 pk. by Micael Casillas

I've been using Plink brand small waste cleaning balls for many years and am not thrilled with their effectiveness because they give off a citrus scent for about a minute and then my removal immediately reverted to a foul smell. I learned this from another customer's review of Plink balls and this product is now the only cleaner I use. To use them, run hot water down the sink (rather than directly into the disposer) for about a minute, then place the white bag in the disposer with the disposer off and continue running water with the disposer on. DO NOT open or puncture the white sachet to empty the contents - hot water and dispensing blades will dissolve the sachet. On removal the blue cleaning foam rises from the waste bin into the sink itself and when the cleaning is complete the foam is sucked back into the waste bin and when this happens you know the cleaning cycle is complete and you can shut down the disposer. The bags smell like lemon and while the smell lingers longer than Plinks, it doesn't last more than 5-10 minutes, but my trash doesn't smell like rot right away either. The main difference here is the cleanability. Disposal of Plinks always resulted in a bad odor and Plinks did not clean from the inside like Disposer Care. After using Disposer Care, odors remain fresh and odors do not return for at least a week. It cleans the disposer, but be aware that it doesn't actually clean the back of the little black rubber around the sink hole. After using the Disposer Care, I take a damp paper towel and rub it over the back - the cleaner loosens any dirt and makes wiping easier. The blue foam is nice to look at, but make sure you don't get in the way. and not directly above the disposal in case of splashes. The chemicals it contains are highly irritating and may irritate the skin or eyes. I love that for only $10 you get 8 packs so that's great value. We use it every 2-3 weeks. The main warning is that you should check the disposal before using this product (I use a latex glove to reach into the disposal) to make sure there are no foreign objects or large food particles inside. The second time I used them, my husband somehow stuck a toothpick in the bottom of the bin and none of us knew about it, and when I turned on the bin, there was a huge blue explosion and the blue foam literally flew out of the bin. and stains my clothes, countertops and floors. Talk about chaos. The toothpick must have pierced the bag. All in all this is a fantastic product that far outperforms the Plink brand cleaning products.
