Pros: Easy setup, good sound quality, lots of features Cons: No backup battery. A second language is not provided. The auto attendant is not open on weekends. This is a base station that is physically connected to all phone lines and serves all end devices by radio. Autoresponder options are somewhat limited. There is no clear way to provide a separate entry for the second language. If you use the auto attendant, you can specify separate messages during the day and night, but this applies to both weekends and weekdays. If you use an auto attendant, callers must press the star key twice to leave a message. This seems overly complicated, especially when the callers do not speak the language of the recorded message. To have a more traditional way of "leave message on dial tone" you can limit yourself to one entry and one mailbox. Using the corporate directory option with separate mailboxes for each person/department requires the caller to use the hash key and complicates the information contained in the messages, but it is possible. Customer Service: Both of my add-ons came with batteries for backup power during power outages. . This block of the main console did not have this. An email to customer service was offered to fix the problem by returning the device. Since I need a phone for office work, this was not a viable solution. To explore options for second speakers, I called customer service. The sound quality was poor making it difficult to hear the representatives and understand their heavily accented English. My first call ended when the agent couldn't hear me. When I call a phone manufacturer and they have a bad phone connection, I think someone is not paying attention to quality control. Additionally, the reps were clearly working with scripts and didn't understand what I was asking about. UI: It's a little tricky to use multiple lines because if you pick up the phone while line 1 is idle, you'll be connected to line 2. If you answer Line 1 and want to press the Line 1 button, Line 2 will be unlocked and go into standby mode, waiting even if no one is connected. Other aspects of the interface are fairly basic, but menus are opened and activated with the arrow keys, which can be a bit fiddly. Conclusion: Setup was pretty easy. The news and directory functions work well. The sound quality in my small office is not bad, despite several walls and many cabinets between the base station and end devices. This offers great value for a small business as long as they are willing to live within certain limitations.
