Edit: Having received a replacement, I can confirm that they use some sort of proprietary USB-C charging, which makes this device terrible. I guarantee you will lose the cable and not be able to find a replacement. Every USB-C cable I've tried doesn't work. I have confirmed that this is a special cord and not a brick. you have been warned That's a shame for an otherwise decent cheap tablet. As far as I can tell, this tablet runs the stock version of Google Android 10, currently with the September security update. Security updates aside, that's a big plus, you only get minimal apps to work with and then download whatever you want. This also means it works with Google Family Link, which doesn't work with Fire tablets. It's cheap for a kid's tablet and does what I want, so I'll probably keep it if I can get USB-C charging to work. However, the speaker is at the bottom when holding the device in portrait mode. It's not ideal for a tablet for young children, who mostly use it in full-screen, landscape mode. Cases are another issue, there really aren't any options here. It fits very snugly into the rugged 8" Fire tablet case. You have to cut some of the foam to get to the connectors/buttons, but it still works quite well. I'm not sure what's up with the store. Almost every one Device in my house has USB-C and I bought this tablet specifically for my daughter to avoid trying to find a micro USB cable. For some reason the only charger that works with this tablet is the one that comes with it The only thing I can think of is that all my USB-C chargers have PD (Power Delivery), although I understand that if the device doesn't support power delivery it should revert to normal slow charging Tried at least 4 different power supplies/cables with no success. I will be getting a replacement soon and hope this is the only one I have an issue with. Another reviewer said something about malware. I was able to access the device Can't find a link to the wireless network updater app, and the google play store says phone apps have been tested and verified.
