Review on Koss Porta Pro Bluetooth Headphones by Mohmed Burt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

In times of TWS, they are easy to overlook. But not worth it

In 1984 the Koss Porta Pro was designed simply as an improved portable telephone with exposed headphones to replace the relatively poor-sounding headphones that came with a Walkman or Walkman clone. In doing so, however, Koss created a legend. Not only were the Porta Pros incredibly comfortable, they sounded great too. And while they weren't the most stylish, they're definitely better than putting the ghetto blaster to your ear. From the very beginning, Porta Pro users didn't care how they looked, but how they sounded. The Koss Porta Pro has remained virtually unchanged for 36 years. This is testament to their design and sound. Yes, there have been versions with an included wired microphone and volume/playback controls, but the design of the actual headset hasn't changed one bit. The growing availability of Bluetooth and the declining availability of 3.5mm phone jacks convinced the engineers to make something beautiful. Revolutionary. Create a wireless version of Porta Pro. But how do you do that while retaining the Porta Pro's sonic signature? The solution is as ingenious and inelegant as PortaPro itself. Put the entire "iron" in the cord and loop the cord together. The DAC, charging connector and batteries are located in two "clumps" on the cable. Nothing has been added to the headset itself. This has been criticized by some in the audio community, but overlooked that even putting a battery in the headset would likely affect the fit and sound performance. No, to keep Porta Pro Porta Pro, you cannot switch headsets. Instead you have a Porta Pro kit with a cable looped through between the left and right sides. The battery is on the left side of the cable. This battery provides 12 hours of headset use. On the right is a micro-USB charging port and a multi-function button that controls track navigation, volume, pause and play, and activates the voice assistant. The controls are fairly intuitive and simple. to get used to something. The result is amazing. I get the same sound quality I love from my Porta Pro but with the added benefit of not being tied to my phone. Some have complained of Bluetooth connectivity issues, but I haven't had any. I can easily walk around my whole apartment. The battery included in the scope of delivery ensures sufficient battery power. The only minor complaint I have is the micro USB charging port, more specifically the rubber connector. It can disrupt and disrupt the charging process. It would also be nice if Koss upgraded it to a USB-C connection, but those are minor issues in my opinion. offer a "lifetime warranty" so your warranty on these models is reduced to 1 year due to limited battery life. I hope Koss will continue to sell this model or an updated model in the future because I definitely want to pick them up again when the battery finally dies. Looks. I understand. As TWS technology keeps getting better, it's becoming harder and harder to make a case for these headsets. There are some standout wireless earbuds that can rival the Porta Pro. But in the end, even the most comfortable headphones can cause discomfort. I've never had anything like that with Porta Pros. So while having a pair of headphones in my bag to enjoy on the go. The Porta Pro wireless headphones are a welcome change when I come home and just want great sound quality and comfort.

Pros
