Review on ๐Ÿ“ท 3 Legged Thing Punks Billy Lightweight Tripod: Your Ultimate General Use Tripod with Multi-Tool (Billy Anarchy Edition) by Phil Prater

Revainrating 5 out of 5

You won't be disappointed - ultra light, perfectly stable

I bought the Billy tripod after playing around with several tripods in this price range including those from Manfrotto and Mefoto. After about a week I knew this was the tripod for me. For comparison: I mostly shoot long exposure night shots with the Nikon D750, which is not the lightest DSLR. Combined with a variety of lenses, it can test a variety of purpose-built travel tripods. This thing supports it very well. Legs, leg locks, regular ball head, everything - everything is stable. and all with a weight that you can easily carry around, clip onto your backpack, etc. One of the coolest things about their tripods (probably all of them) is the plate at the base of the center column. Completely independently, I've been trying to find a way to attach a few things to my old tripod (flashlights, gels, and other stuff I'm digging around in weird places in the middle). As soon as I saw this "Trimount" plate, it seemed to be the exact answer to my riddle. How it is. The oversized rubber grips in the footlock just feel great - and far better in hand than any twistlock I've ever dealt with. The included tool comes in handy for hanging weights on a tripod or doing all kinds of equipment maintenance. I've used this tripod in the wind, rain, mud and literally couldn't get enough of it.
