Strong and lightweight travel tripod

This tripod offers the best combination of features I have ever seen in a travel tripod. My previous frustrations have been that they tend to be too short and not adjustable enough. This one allows you to work at full height as it is very light and fairly stable. My only minor complaint is that the leg buttons are a bit sticky.

Lost a leg after 3 uses

Bought to replace a cheap tripod. Generally decent. Light ball head stops when I tighten it. However, I was VERY annoyed that after 3 uses (twice outdoors) one of the legs fell off and I only noticed it the next time I used it. So now I have to order a replacement leg. Do you know how many times my cheap tripod legs have fallen off? ZERO.

So far, so good. on Camera & Photo

It's only been a week but I read a lot of reviews before buying. Most importantly, I read the instructions first. Yes, to do this you had to visit the website and download and print out the user manual. All bolts have been tightened and the legs remain tight upon arrival and even after the hike. Of course, you should always check things like this before heading out.

  • Great for outdoor activities

The 3 Legged Thing - Caring company

The 3 Legged Thing website was quite informative but I have one more question. The answer came almost instantly and related to the question. Reviews of the 3LT Punks Billy are numerous and are consistent with Revain's. . . High quality tripod, easy to use, versatile and yes. . . good looking. I have PeakDesign hardware and the 3LT plate is fully compatible as advertised. Another additional feature that makes a big difference is the stability even under load. It's good to know that your cameraโ€ฆ

Best Impulsesss Buy for Camera & Photo

This is the first tripod product I have ever bought (besides the first one I lost) and it definitely has a lot of stability and is compact/lightweight. Other reviews state that the production is flawed as they lost one of the legs within the first few uses. My advice: check the details before the first shoot. Leaving the parking lot with a new car before testing it? no Take your Billy apart - unscrew the legs, feet, camera mount, anything that can actually be detached, and then screw it back on

Innovative and solid.

This tripod is exactly what I expected. I think if you are going to buy 3 Legged Thing tripods, you should be concerned that you are buying something other than your regular tripod. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who saw the lackluster reviews of the early 3 Legged Thing products and when I saw them I tried to stay as far away from their tripods as possible. After some issues with Manfrotto and Benro I decided to bite the bullet and give the 3LT a try. This tripod is very light thanks to theโ€ฆ

Great potential/Poor performance

I have had this tripod for about 2 years now. Initially I was very pleased when I used it with my Olympus system as it was a definite improvement over the old tripod. There have been a few shortcomings in the last few months that need to be fixed: 1. The rubber feet can be unscrewed very easily. I have to make sure they are tight when using a tripod so I don't lose them.2. The grippy sleeve on the ball knobs started slipping when I tried to tighten them. So I can't tighten the knobs enough andโ€ฆ

You won't be disappointed - ultra light, perfectly stable

I bought the Billy tripod after playing around with several tripods in this price range including those from Manfrotto and Mefoto. After about a week I knew this was the tripod for me. For comparison: I mostly shoot long exposure night shots with the Nikon D750, which is not the lightest DSLR. Combined with a variety of lenses, it can test a variety of purpose-built travel tripods. This thing supports it very well. Legs, leg locks, regular ball head, everything - everything is stable. and allโ€ฆ

Looks great feels light but disappointing quality

I was looking for a lightweight tripod for my hikes. This tripod meets all requirements. I've compared it to several other tripods on the market and find it to be one of the lightest tripods, especially when the center post is removed. Unfortunately, I encountered two disappointments with this tripod. First, legs and wellies tend to fall off. I noticed that a detachable leg was screwed on easily. Luckily I caught it and added duct tape to hold it in place. Unfortunately, I didn't notice thatโ€ฆ
