This is the first tripod product I have ever bought (besides the first one I lost) and it definitely has a lot of stability and is compact/lightweight. Other reviews state that the production is flawed as they lost one of the legs within the first few uses. My advice: check the details before the first shoot. Leaving the parking lot with a new car before testing it? no Take your Billy apart - unscrew the legs, feet, camera mount, anything that can actually be detached, and then screw it back on - put it back together. As long as you haven't damaged your incredibly durable carbon fiber tripod/monopod at this point, you're good to go. You will have it for years (if you don't lose it :). PS I'm not sure if that's good value for money. Other product reviews from the same company make Billy seem very approachable, but I'm a student and spending $300 on a tripod (twice) is definitely a dubious move.
