I decided it was time to free up space on the table and move away from the monitor stand and buy a regular arm mount. And on paper it looked like it would fit. The mount itself feels very solid, although there's plenty of NB branding that oddly looks like the New Balance logo. However, they can be removed quite easily. My table already has a hole for the grommet so I went with this setup. Assembly was easy enough and the VESA mounts fit my 34" LG monitor perfectly. It took a lot of effort to get the monitor into the desired position using set screws and a spanner, but once I did that I dutifully tightened everything up and felt like gold. Then I started typing and my monitor started bouncing left and right. The mount has a vertical axis of rotation - which is cool - but it doesn't look like you can tighten it enough to keep the monitor from rocking in small, circular motions. It's really annoying. For use on a primary monitor today, I wouldn't recommend this for a 34-inch monitor, let alone the 40-inch monitor it's supposedly designed for.
