Couldn't wait to get this backpack. It's everything I expected. It's big enough to carry essentials. As a small backpack, it is unobtrusive and works well as a backpack or shoulder bag. I don't know why some reviews say the straps are short because I'm 16.5'5 and haven't had any issues with the 'adjustable' straps. The straps are more than enough to carry the bag in any position. For a taller person that would be ok. Also, I could stow a 16oz or 500ml water bottle in the side pocket. However, this space can be used to store sunglasses or snacks. A large bottle of iPhone or Android easily fits in the front pocket. My Note 4, the same size as the large iPhone, fits in perfectly. Also, it's an old iPad 2.9-inch tablet tucked away in a pocket in the back compartment.
