We like our trees more on the thick side, and 1 garland only managed to cover the top quarter of our tree. So unless your tree is very small, you should buy 2 or 3 of them. I'll be buying more to cover the lower sections, but if you can find a 40-45 foot garland (if there is such a thing) I'd go instead. My roommate brought up a good point, the material looks more like a cheerleading pom pom than regular tinsel garland, so be careful if you're not looking for it. I like the reflective nature of this garland as it reflects the light better and makes the garland pop.
