I wanted my hard, gas permeable scleral lenses to be as clear as possible. They continued to get protein buildup after 4-5 hours and even the protein flush drops didn't help as much as I was hoping. I took a chance ordering this in hopes it would provide a deep clean that would slow down protein stains so I could wear them longer without scrubbing all day. Although the shutters are designed for smaller, less protruding lenses, I attached them without engaging the shutters (too tight could damage the lenses). I add H2O2, which I usually use in a cleaning kit, gently place the lenses in the soil with the solution, then turn them on. After four minutes, I remove the lenses from it, pour the H2O2 solution into the 6-hour cleaning case, fill up, then place the lenses in this holder and close it for a thorough overnight sterilization and cleaning. In the morning they come out crystal clear. I wipe them with Bio True solution and then inject them. In over a month they have been working on me for over 8 hours with no protein stains clouding my vision! Thorough ultrasonic cleaning seems to prevent protein stains like nothing else. I am completely satisfied with the results. I will never be without an ultrasonic cleaner again! One of the lenses usually falls to the bottom of the tank when I put the top and bottom together, but this resulted in no scratches after a month of use. I was able to snap one of the lens holders once, but it was very tight and I didn't have to snap them because: The lenses are held loosely by the snaps, but that's not a problem. The device cleans them excellently, although the scleral lenses are too big for the attachments. Careful handling ensures full functionality, complete and thorough cleaning. For your health!
