Very thick and strong felt but two trays arrived with snapped or partially melted latches so only 3 corners work. Not worth sending back, but quality control would be nice for the price. They work well as sorters and sizes are the same as described online. When formed into a "bowl", the surface area is small, so the result is a pile. If you want your parts laid out so you can see them all, just don't break the corners. Lay the pieces flat on the felt and you can still fold and rearrange them as needed. Works well if you are working on a small area and later want to slide it off the felt and place it in the puzzle.
