Bright light, prongs can be plugged in only a certain way for it to work.

The brightness is noticeable right when you plug it in (correctly). It is a whiter light than your normal halogen bulb. The only thing that could trip some people up is that it only turns on if the prongs are in one way, not the other. So make sure you try it before completely reinstalling everything. Otherwise, very affordable purchase. Hopefully it lasts as long as it should.
