My son is going to summer camp this year and one of the must-have items for children was a poncho. At first I wanted to buy disposable ponchos but this idea was short lived, they are not good for the environment and my son is autistic with sensory issues, sure a plastic bag wouldn't be ideal. This poncho arrived today. it is very high quality. It's not thin. it is light in weight. In general, it seems more expensive than it actually is. My only suggestion (removing the star didn't bother me enough - it's more of a personal preference) would be to add drawstrings to tighten the hood around the head/face. Again this is more of a personal preference as my son is tall and thin with a slightly loose fit around his face. He had no problem wearing it. I asked him to leave it for a while to see if it would bother him at all and nothing. It's also great to keep in your backpack during the school year for emergencies. it's small enough and light enough to stay in all year round.
