Protective film failed
See photo. You need to stick the protective film on the phone first, and then stick the magnet on the protective film. Apparently I lack the manual skills to remove the foil properly. They sent two and I destroyed both trying to make it work. I also tried attaching a magnet to a phone case but it came loose as soon as I took the phone off the mount. Then I tried the magnet in the phone case, but it's too thick and interferes with my work. Pooh!
