My daughter was diagnosed with eye problems the same day she had epilepsy. We tried to keep her happy and were mostly successful, but one area that particularly frustrated her was that she had to be corrected every day. We've tried the ones that go over the glasses (they just peeked out from underneath), the hospital ones (the adhesive was painful to remove - eyes are such a delicate area of skin), and the CVS brand (it worked). the best of the three, but we're normal-skinned). We received our OpthPatch package late last week. At first she was reluctant, but after just a few days I noticed a drastic change in her attitude. The first benefit is physical. She doesn't have to wear it all day, so when she takes it off, the sticky part starts to loosen, allowing it to be removed painlessly. In my opinion having to change it to allow for longer treatment is not a big deal as it is a large package and my child's comfort depends a lot on how he perceives it. Another advantage is that it gives her a degree of control over her address in an (for her) uncontrollable situation. She tried every patch and her attitude towards everything was positive (today she smiled when she hit me to get a patch! I didn't have to ask her - I can't tell you how surprised I was!).
