It looked a bit tight for my 2013 11" MacBook Air but I thought let's just try it so I pushed the laptop in and he approached . And the lid closed with no problems. Then I tried to pull it out. and I couldn't. The rubber feet on the laptop didn't help, and for an agonizing 5-10 minutes I couldn't pull it out. And believe me, there's nothing wrong with agility or strength in my hands. He's stuck. So, finally, little by little, he moved towards freedom. It took maybe 15 minutes total to free him. Then I put it back in, thinking maybe now it was stretched to make it easier to get it out - big mistake! After 3-4 unsuccessful attempts to stretch it, I finally decided to pull it out with a shoelace. The problem, however, is that there is very little support from underneath, so you can even pull it out with a string. As I bought this for my elderly mom I have to sew on a handle at the bottom and tell her to always wrap the drawstring around when she puts it back. . But for 2013 it is clearly too narrow. At the same time, the faux leather is matt medium brown, quite a pleasant color, the magnets hold the valve well. With a tight-fitting laptop, using a case is out of the question, but I like that it's not really bulky and my mom can slip it in her bag like a small binder. The protective cardboard is on the front of the case, and the back is covered with two layers of faux leather. Good corner protection, although not as hard as my case for the Moko iPad 2. I wouldn't want to drop it in this case, I don't think the corners will protect if dropped, but I'm not buying it for that. I need a thin and light case that fits and fits in my pocket. The inside is velvety faux suede, a few blisters in the crease, but that's okay. The suede doesn't mark or pill, which I'm glad about. The stitching around the edges is strong, I expect this case to last a long time. My only concern is the tight fit on my model, but that will be fixed with a mod. All in all, I'm happy with this case and won't be buying another. Three stars for all the time I wrung my hands trying to get my computer out.
