This adapter seems to be of high quality and I like that it doesn't stop the iPad speakers when no headphones are plugged in. However, when you plug in headphones, there is an audible static noise. This sound disappears when you start playing media - it's only there when you're not playing anything. However, other adapters I tried didn't have this problem. They seem to be drawing an unusual amount of power from the devices they're connected to. UPDATE: After a few months of use, the connections are even deeper in the case. The adapter still works, but the USB-C connector no longer provides a reliable connection and comes off very easily. UPDATE 2: The first adapter stopped working after about 2 months. Ordered a replacement which was dead on arrival. Customer support is missing. UPDATE 3: Another adapter stopped working.
