Review on πŸͺ‘ Enhance Comfort & Posture with Boss Office Products Ergonomic Kneeling Stool in Black by Michelle Lynn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for the price - especially the seat adjustment!

The kneeling chair allows your spine to be in a neutral position when the seat is at the right angle for you. Some things to consider are the angle of the seat and whether it is adjustable, the distance from the seat to the knee pad, how the seat height is adjusted, and the quality of the frame, pads, and wheels. I read a lot of reviews and looked at the Dragonn model, the Boss model (the only model I found with a pneumatic adjustable gas lift) and the Sleekform Alpharetta model (the only model I saw). with seat angle adjustment). However, the Sleekform Alpharetta was sold out everywhere so I bought the Dragonn chair as well as this chair from Boss to compare and see how they feel. Unfortunately, for most of these chairs, the height adjustment is directly related to the seat angle. Therefore, the higher you adjust the seat, the greater the seat angle. Also, if you're a short person, there's no way to adjust the distance of the lap rest from the seat, so with my 5ft tall and very short hipbones I have to sit fairly low in the seat. sit with my shins resting on the knee pad and there's no changing that. I photographed the Boss (black) and Dragonn (grey) side by side in the lowest position and the highest position and you can see that the Dragonn is set up much higher but also at a very steep angle. I don't need a chair at my desk all day, it's only for a few hours of work at a time so I don't need a chair to sit in for 8 hours. In this case, I would recommend having several different options so you can change position/sitting position from sitting to standing during the day. Dragonn was very easy to build, especially if you watch the video. For the price the quality is quite good. The cushions are well made, but the wheels are plastic, not metal. However, I think you could buy metal rollers at a hardware store and replace them with something more durable. The cushion is very thick and durable, but a bit stiff. It also found that no matter how low I set the Dragonn seat, the angle was too steep for me and didn't allow me to keep my spine in a neutral position. Instead, I arched my lower back, which immediately became uncomfortable. To adjust the seat height you have to get off the chair and turn a screw that slowly adjusts the height, so it's not a quick-adjust chair. Boss was also very easy to assemble, but there was no video. For the price (only around $80), I think the quality is very good - the frame and wheels are the same quality as the Dragonn, but the seat cushions are much thinner. Although the seat cushions are not that heavy, I actually found them more comfortable because they are softer. Boss has a fairly shallow angle in the lowest position, but remember that the downward tilt of the hips is enough to tilt the pelvis forward, so that angle was enough to keep me sitting straight with a neutral spine. Even when the boss is maxed out, it's still not too cool for me, so it's pretty comfortable on all settings. To adjust the chair higher, simply remove the bottom of the seat, pull the lever and let it rise to the desired spot. To lower it, you can pull the lever while still sitting in your chair and lower it where you want it. Very easy and quick to set up. It was the only model I found with this handy feature. My conclusion is that I think it's worth trying a few of them to see what works for you, because I think the angle you're comfortable with can be slightly different for everyone. . If you can get a model like the Sleekform Alpharetta with separate seat angle adjustment that will probably give you the best fit and I might try that if it ever becomes available in the future. Luckily Boss was so reasonably priced that I decided to keep it until I tried Sleekform.
