Suction cups will not work on striped defrost glass

If you need this item to defrost the striped rear window, it will not stick to your glass. I tried to get on the Tahoe and every time I opened the back one or both fell off! I've also tried velcro strips for walking but they didn't hold either. I ended up having to go to the hardware store to get screws to screw into the plastic back panel.
