After several weeks of use, I can finally devote myself to this evaluation of my results! The purpose of this device for me is as a safety measure against dogs in my area - Less than a year ago there was a case where God sent a similar device to save my life and my mother's from a non-standard aggressive pit bull. Since then I've been looking for devices to control dogs. Put simply. Wow. PROS: WRIST LOOP is a big hit for me - seemingly tiny, it's actually something really important to this device because it frees your hand from carrying. (and unlike the belt clip, you can wear it with a dress without a belt, for example). The range is VERY clear - I can hear it so I appreciate the powerful stream. The mode is very handy - especially the blink mode (it has a permanent non-blink mode) You can even turn it on against anyone with eyes (dog or human) and it can disorient them for a moment when you need to run away from their presence , for example. CHARGING vs. BATTERY: I charged once and haven't had to for a month! I appreciate that it is not battery powered BECAUSE you never know when that battery will die even if you checked it before leaving and I don't want to be in that position if the need arises, this device to use. The benefit of charging is that you can maintain it when needed and be sure it's always working! When the battery is low, the description says it shows red, but I haven't worn it down to see that. I like it! Personally, that's all I need in one device. The fact that there are TWO heads (so scary power sources) makes me feel doubly good (because the device I mentioned earlier where it saved my life thankfully only had one power source). VERY smart technology!
