This adapter seems perfect for mounting racks on bikes where there are no holes to mount rack hardware directly to seatposts/tubes. It looks sturdy and is covered in rubber for protection. Good quality nuts/bolts. I have an old hybrid bike and the adapter saved me from having to design my own jig to get the new Topeak rack working for me. I was able to position the adapter on the seatpost tube so that the support legs didn't have to be bent to keep the post level. It's spread wide enough to clear the rear brake cable/hardware, so there weren't any interference issues. The only downside is minor. The screw that attaches the adapter to the pipe was too short to thread through the clamp once the clamp was positioned around the pipe, even after I squeezed it with pliers. I had to find a longer bolt/nut to compress the clamp a little, then I replaced that bolt with the one provided. The tube on my bike can be a bit larger than some and since the adapter has a lot of rubber coating the fit was tight. A slightly longer screw would save a step.
