I wanted a tripod for my projector so I can make outdoor movies for my neighbors. This is probably not suitable for this because the leg position does not offer enough stability. Also, it's a little awkward to set up as the braces actually flex if you apply even slightly incorrect pressure to them while unfolding. Also, the screws that hold the main stand upright aren't very tight, so even a mid-sized projector or laptop can cause it to sag over time. What annoys me the most is the platform. It comes with a foldable platform and a mouse tray attached to it, but doesn't fit in the bag that came with the tripod. What's the point of having a bag that doesn't fit everything you want to take with you? Especially when one of those parts can be folded but isn't compact enough to do so? This means that every time I take a bag with me, I have to make sure I have other parts as well, which is the opposite of convenience. An inch or two more of fabric would solve the problem. All in all, it's like the manufacturers are squeezing every penny until the quality suffers, but then still charging full price. I give it 3 stars because technically it does the job but not so well that you're happy you've chosen it over any other device.
