Thunderbolt 3 cables are expensive. If you need 40 Gbps and a little over 3 feet, then look at $60 for a cable. This is another new "premium" HDMI marketing scheme. Do not be fooled. Thunderbolt cables that meet the specifications are identical. I was very happy with this cable, it looks solid, was only about $22 at the time of purchase in May 2020 and it WORKS. I use this to connect my laptop to an external monitor and it gets recognized every time. No dangling cords, no fiddling with connectors, just plug and play.
