I bought these for my 26 month old and ordered a size up to last all summer. She's a little picky about her clothes, but after a few weeks she fell in love with them and started choosing them to wear herself. They are especially good for wearing in the pool, beach, water, playground and rainy summer days. You can easily wash them in the dishwasher or in the sink. I'd say she's more likely to trip in them than her sneakers, but that might be because they're a bit big.
