I bought this holiday because I saw videos on YouTube that said the shea butter version contained rubbing alcohol. This has been presented as a serious warning and insult to women trying to retain moisture in their natural/curly/curly hair. This is definitely a priority for me as my hair is curly, very fine, tangle prone and quite long. I have no interest in stressing it any more or causing dryness or knots. He can do it himself. However, the jury disagrees with me on this formulation. I will say it takes less conditioner to saturate my hair and the look is even better than the shea butter formula. My curls are well defined and shiny. Shrinkage is even less! However, my hair seems a bit stiffer and I can't explain it. And I have to be MUCH more careful with this to work it thoroughly into my hair otherwise it leaves ugly white clumps and stays on after it dries. It doesn't dry out like the shea butter formula. And that, my friends, could ruin the deal. With extra care and smoothing, I was able to achieve a crisp end result that I could easily achieve with a shea butter formula, but I don't want to spend that much time every time! Therefore I give here 3 stars. I may update in the future or just go back to the original.
